The project focuses on research, monitoring, and education within rural communities.

At Smurfit, we are reimagining the paper and cardboard industry for a better planet. This vision is driven by our "human fiber," representing the expertise, talent, and passion of our people. We create innovative, sustainable paper-based packaging solutions that contribute to the growth of our customers and other stakeholders.

Respect for the environment and the well-being of the communities in which we operate are part of our work; that is why, for nearly 80 years, the circular economy has been central to our business. This model is reflected in the packaging we produce, which is recyclable, biodegradable, and sourced from renewable materials.

We are committed to the communities where we have the privilege of operating and want to be part of the change and social and economic transformation in these regions. Therefore, through our Smurfit Kappa Colombia Foundation, we develop high-impact, long-term social programs in partnership with communities, the public sector, and other allies, focusing on four areas of action: education, income generation and grassroots development, environmental management, and active citizenship. Additionally, for over 60 years, we have worked to improve the quality of life for the communities neighboring our operations.
